Troma Entertainment is the oldest independent film company still running today. Troma began in the 1970s with Battle of Love's Return and began making what Troma president Lloyd Kaufman calls "sexy comedies", such as Squeeze Play and The First Turn-On. However, it was when founders Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz made the film The Toxic Avenger that they were catapulted into success. Troma is still continuing their legacy of gory horror comedies, including Class of Nuke 'Em High, Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D., and Tromeo and Juliet, as of this day. Not to mention the wonderful movies Troma has distributed, including Cannibal! The Musical and Chopper Chicks In Zombietown. Troma has been operating for 30 years as of now and shows no signs of stopping!
I know this isn't much, but I plan on making an FAQ to put on this page someday soon.
Info on this site
Tromatized is run by young Troma fan Justin Channell. It was founded in December 2002, due to the fact that there are plenty of Troma websites and websites devoted to movies out there, but not many include very much information on Troma movies. Sure, they have all sorts of news and other cool stuff, but this page is mainly for information on the great Troma movies. In case you're wondering(and I doubt you are), these pages were created by using Adobe Photoshop 7 and FrontPage Express for the main layout and Notepad for all HTML editing. The reason I use FrontPage is because I can't script tables to save my life. In June 2003, Troma started helping me out with the site by not only hosting it on tromamovies.com, but also selecting my site as an official fan site! If you need to contact Justin for any reason, his e-mail address is justin@tromamovies.com.

I thought for some reason, people may actually want to know who I am when they visit this site. I'm a 17 year old Troma fan from Fairmont, WV. I first got into Troma back when I noticed they were hosting a few of my favorite sites at the time (Newgrounds and House of Horrors), but it wasn't until I picked up Cannibal! The Musical on DVD that I really started getting into Troma films. Being that I've always been one who seems to like things that aren't quite mainstream, the films Troma offered looked like they'd be right up my alley. After scrounging local video stores, I found The Toxic Avenger and Class of Nuke Em High and from then on, I was hooked. Due to the lack of Troma-friendly video stores in my area, I ended up turning to places like eBay to get my Troma fix. As of now, Troma movies make up a good half of my DVD collection and practically all of my prerecorded VHS collection.
Because I'm a geek, it's fairly obvious that I'd end up starting a Troma fansite. I was a bit disappointed in what was already online, as many sites such as imdb.com didn't have very much information on Troma movies. I wanted to set up a site with as much info and media on Troma that I could. I will honestly say that from the people I've gotten to be associated with and the amount of hits I see to this site, I'm quite happy that I started Tromatized! Long live Troma!
