1. How did you get introduced to Troma?
I wrote a story on Lloyd Kaufman for a movie magazine in 1991. When he met me he asked if I was interested in doing some modeling for some box art for movies they had picked up for distribution, like Maniac Nurses and Silent Butt Deadly. After that I did a number of skits with Troma for cable TV, shows on Comedy Central and Cinemax. Then in 1995 he cast me for the role of Ness in Tromeo and Juliet.
2. What exactly is The Troma System? You mention it in the extras of Tromeo and Juliet, yet there is very little information to be found on it.
The Troma System was a half hour infomercial we shot for Comedy Central. It was a take-off on the then ultra-popular 'infomercial'. We were selling Tromabilia in it. There was a skit in which I played Edna Perlmutter, a harried house wife/mother who, once she ordered the Troma System, became a beautiful Tromette! It aired for the better part of a year in 1993 on Comedy Central.
3. Are you only appearing in the wrap-around segments for Tales From The Crapper or will you be featured in the anthology segments as well?
Yes, I appear with Lloyd, The Crap Keeper, in the wrap around segments. They were shot to help 'fix' a movie India Allen directed for Troma but was a disaster...until we Tromatized it and made it very entertaining!
4. Were you a little bit afraid of what fans would think of the newly shot footage for Night of the Living Dead, which you appeared in? I've yet to see it, but I've heard a lot of backlash against it.
Well, yes and no. I appeared in the film for 2 reasons. One, I was paid to play a role in a movie and two, I loved the original movie. Even though I understand the way people feel about the whole thing, I usually ask people this question: If you were asked to be cut into your favorite film and get paid for it, would you do it? Everyone answers yes, even though they know it's considered sacrilegious! I have no regrets, I had a blast shooting it!
5. What are some of your favorite movies?
I love The Shining, Taxi Driver, The Road Warrior, Fight Club and Carnival of Souls, so many it's hard to list only a few!
6. Favorite music?
Prince, R&B, Classical.
7. Anything else you'd like to say?
Well, I'm very excited about Citizen Toxie coming out! It's going to be out on DVD in 2003 and I know people are going to love this one! It was so amazing making it back in 1999, it's been a wait but it will be so worth it!
