Welcome to Post Tromatic Shlock! As you know, this is where you can come to check out the latest work from Troma stars and filmmakers, after their work in Tromaville is done. This time around, we're taking a look at Ding-A-Ling-Less (AKA Re-Membering Jack), the latest film from Onur Tukel(the director of Sergio Lapel's Drawing Blood). The twisted comedy film is now availible from Go Kart Films and more info and a trailer can be found at rememberingjack.com. Re-Membering Jack stars Kirk Wilson (who also appeared in Drawing Blood and Tukel's first film, House of Pancakes) as Jack Peterson, a birdhouse maker who has a great life. Except for the fact that a bit of malpractice early in his life left him without a penis. Despite his phallic lack, he's perfectly content with his life, except for the fact he avoids contact with the opposite sex and constantly hears stories of his permiscuous friend Alan's sex life. However, one day, all of that changes when Alan informs Jack that a nearby doctor has discovered a way to give jack the manhood he desires. Knowing that he'll soon have a penis, Jack ends up hooking up with Jenny, his next-door neighbor, thinking of all of the perks of having a penis, and has Alan instruct him on all of the dos and don'ts of being endowed. However, everything goes downhill for Jack when he learns of the waiting time it takes to get a donor may be up to ten years. He slides into depression, after having his hopes and dreams crushed and knowing he will have to end the relationship with Jenny. Things start to look up for Jack, when Alan tries to attempt to "re-member" his best friend, but fails. But when a donor finally emerges, Jack begins to have second thoughts, due to how much trouble wanting to have a penis has caused him. Re-Membering Jack is a delightfully twisted comedy, with enough heart to prevent it from completely jading the viewer. The style of the film reminds me of what would happen if Wes Anderson made a Farelly Brothers film. It was shot on a much larger budget than Drawing Blood and it definately shows. The 35mm photography gave the film a crisp, more professional, and expensive look. In fact, if it weren't for the fact that they'd probably never tackle a film with such bizarre subject matter, you'd almost think Re-Membering Jack was a Hollywood production. The performances are great, especially the lead roles and the humor is right on key. A scene where Jack goes through all the wonderful perks he'd be able to have with a penis is one of the few times I've ever laughed out loud while watching a film alone. Delightfully bizarre and often hilarious, Re-Membering Jack is recommended and recommended even more to those that enjoyed Drawing Blood. The films aren't similar in style, but it does give you a taste of what writer/director Onur Tukel is capable of. The film's currently seeking distribution, but hopefully it'll be availible soon. Until then, a trailer is availible at rememberingjack.com.

Jack Peterson had almost everything a guy could ask for.
