Review: Beware! Children At Play
Reviewed by: Samir Asfahani

I remember the day that I first bought this. I saw it at Media Play in the VHS horror section (that tells you how long ago i bought it). My friend that I was driving home from school with also thought it looked cool, mainly because of the warning on the front. Wow! "Should not be viewed by pregnant women or people with heart conditions", that's great. I wanted to know why it had that warning. I don't think my friend ever saw it, but we both thought the idea of cannibal children hiding in the woods and killing unsuspecting adults was a brilliant idea. Boy were we right!

I mean i think the acting is pretty stupid, but look at what the movie's about? It's not like you're going to have a bunch of great actors lining up to star in this movie. The dialogue is pretty bad as well, but the memorable scenes make up for all of it! There's the bear trap scene at beginning that's quite tasteful. A dude gets chopped in half, only to pull himself apart by walking away on his hands. There's more, much more, but how can anyone forget the ending to this movie? The parents all up in arms just decide, hey let's kill all the kids! Makes a whole lot of sense to me.

In the end I'd have to say this would be in my second string of troma classics. I mean after you watch all the essential ones like The Toxic Avenger, Nuke em' High, Cannibal The Musical, Etc..., you should take a look at this one. As far as Troma movies goes, it's quite entertaining. This is also a very Romantic Movie. So if you ever have a date and want to put in a Troma movie, this would be the one. This and Bloodsucking Freaks.
