Hollywood Zap! is A Troma comedy. It starts out with mildly retarded Mississippi hick Downer as a discount store manager being berated by this huge fat woman who demands that he sniff her underwear because they pinch her all over. This makes him quit and he decides to go on his life long dream quest to find his "daddy" who left him with his mom when he was a "little tyker". I could relate to this as I had gone through a similar stage and relating to the story made me feel a slight discomfort. Outside of LA he picks up diareah squirting and bean bomb farting Nash who demands Downer take him to the nearest shitter. Nash is a unbalanced Jewish video game hustler and eventually they strike up a bargain, Nash will help downer breaking and entering and other shit in exchange for Downer hanging out in arcades and looking out for managers and cops. One of the highlights of this movie is definitly the arcade scenes for a nostigic look at the seedy Los Angeles video arcades of the 80's with punks and Xaxon. The climax is pure Troma zanyness when the two heros meet the people they are looking for. There is a special cameo with the hobo from "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" and a familar black midget. Also the intro on the video tape I got has Lloyd Kaufman AND Micheal Herz speaking about the film and it's qualities. Over all this film is bizarre enough to be surreal and artistic and enjoyable.
