Yay for women in prison movies! You can't beat a combination of violence,
nudity, girl fighting, and lesbians in a W.I.P. movie. LUST FOR FREEDOM is
Eric Louzil's first movie as a director. He also wrote the movie. Anyway,
the movie is about an ex-special agent named Gillian who is on the road to
nowhere, just to get away from her past life and the memory of her lover who
was murdered during an undercover operation. On the road, she comes across a
girl who escaped from a 'work house' and the cops pull her over and the girl
escapes. The girl is shot, and the cop asks Gillian to follow him to the
Georgia County prison to sign a witness statement form. The cop drugs her
and locks her in a cell. Then we find out that the women's prison is being
used for prostitution. The judge/warden of the place is selling the girls
off and also making his own home snuff films. Gillian finally catches on
they she decides that they have to get out of there, they have to get their
freedom.
This is a great Troma action flick. Eric Louzil is a talented director who
knows how to make W.I.P. flick. If you love 80's action flicks, this is
definately for you. There is a lot of good acting in here too, especially
that of the actress who plays Gillian and the actor who plays the cop (can't
remeber their names at the moment). Another character to keep watch for is
the judge/warden. He is like a Troma version of Boss Hog, with lines like
"Your makin' my belly ache!" A grade-A action W.I.P. b-movie from Troma with
a kick ass 80's hair metal soundtrack with songs from Grim Reaper ('Lust For
Freedom' and 'Rock You To Hell'). I loved it! Go out and see it!
