The video box for Stuff Stephanie In The Incinerator kept looking at me everytime I'd swing by my favorite video store, yet I kept ignoring it. Everytime I'd be in there, I'd think "There's a Troma film I haven't seen. I should rent it and review it" but something would stop me from picking it up. Well, one day, I finally caved it and I wish I would've listened to my conscience after all.
The film is about a married couple, both of which are thespians. The husband loves to create real life plays in his home, by using his wife and their friend. However, when the wife and the friend begin to discuss killing the husband for his wealth, things start to go bad.
You may be wondering why my plot synopsis isn't as detailed as usual. To put it simply, Stuff Stephanie In The Incinerator didn't hold my interest enough to get a decent plot summary. For starters, many viewers will be disappointed at the fact an incinerator appears in one scene and no one is stuffed into it. However, the slow pacing of the film might bore them enough that they won't care. Troma fans might be disappointed in the lack of gore, considering this film's PG-13 rating.
The biggest problem with the film is the constant plot twists. Everytime you start to think you know what's going on, the plot suddenly changes to show it was all just them acting. After following 40 minutes of the plot, your suddenly treated to a new plot. Then, a few minutes later, everything twists again. You may think this makes the film unpredictable, which it does, but that doesn't make it very good.
One thing the film does have going for it is decent acting, very nice cinematography, and a nice setting. It's a shame that the film itself is such a stinker. I'd honestly rather have sat through Splatter University again.
