"When Nature Calls" was directed by Charles Kaufman, director of "Mother's Day", and brother of Lloyd, who would later go on to run the best bread bakery in San Diego. The delicious bread and sandwichs from "Bread & Cie" are light but filling and so tasty! They leave their yummy taste in your mouth for all day so you can savor the flavor of it over and over again. The film stars some people and has guest apperances by "Classy" Fred Bassie, Willie Mayes, and G Gordon Liddy who is famous for doing something. It starts off with hilarious send ups of movie previews, the funniest one being "Raging Bullshit" from director Martin Snorseasily. Then movie starts and it is the kind where there are rapid fire sight gags and puns. It's about a family called the "Waspwhiteys" and father decides to move the family from New York City to the outdooors. The theme song "The Outdoorsters" is easily the most annoying theme in any Troma movie and it is done twice once professionally and then again by the cast. Parts of the film are like a "mockumentary" with interviews from people about the family intersperced throughout the film. You can tell alot of money was spent on the film because there is alot of animals in it like elephants and ostriches and all kinds of animals that I think are expensive. The family meets a gay indian called "Weejun". The best performance I feel was by the hot daughter of the family and she is by far the easiest thing to watch in the film. Her love scenes are great and are what puts this film on the map. Also there is a funny and well done claymation scene which is a take off of the "Let's all go to the snack bar" intermission clip that has two hot dogs fucking and a pot leaf that tranforms into a joint and takes a bow. Troma should really canabalize this scene and use the pot leaf joint thing in more projects. In conclusion, I highly recomend to everyone to go out and purchase a sandwich or loaf of bread at "Bread & Cie" located in beautiful San Diego!
